Traditional pattern, and yet this is a great first attempt at a fractal/flame. Your composition is great and the colours really bring this piece to life. A very crisp and clean render too. Well done!
If you don't mind - What software did you use for this? Take care.
Thank you so much for your comment Mark, I really appreciate it!
Well, the formula is not the fractal flame but the Phoenix (Julia) one.
The software I used is Ultra Fractal 4.03 Standard Edition. Even though it's a great easy-to-learn program, it's not freeware like Apophysis. You can download an evaluation version here [link]
Let me say that your gallery is really awesome! I assume that you use Apophysis for your fractal images, but I would like to ask you the following: Do you use photoshop as well to further adjust the colors of your images?
I really like your work and I am going to watch you! ( i hope that you don't mind)
You are very welcome, Marie. It's a great image. I also meant to say 'Fractal 1' deserves a better title! Unless, you have a good reason for naming it so, of course!
I thought the image had an Ultra Fractal feel to it, but could not be certain. I've tried UF before, but haven't broken out the wallet to buy it yet!
Thank-you for the comment on my gallery. And I'd be happy to be added to your friends list - I appreciate the support!
Yes, I use Apophysis for fractals and yes, Photoshop for post work on almost all of my fractals. I use it mostly for layering and composition - because I want to 'push' the image a little further. That's just me, my personal preference, but is probably frowned upon by most fractal purists. And yes, I sometimes use PS to adjust the colours and contrast.
Well, the title"Fractal 1" has no special meaning, it's just the fact that I am not good at coming up with impressive titles. However, I will try to give a better title to my next fractal art deviation. (hopefully)
I have already created something like a polystar in UF but I think that I need to fix it with PS.Anyway, when (and if) I will upload it, I will inform you so as for you to tell me what you think.
You are a great fractal artist and your comments are of great significance to me since I am still a newbie in fractal art. ( yes, I pretty recently found out about Apophysis and UF , like a week ago.)
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
